Renee Manworren, PhD, APRN, FAAN, is an associate professor of Pediatrics who has studied gaps in intra- and interprofessional healthcare providers knowledge and attitudes of pain and pain management for over 20 years. Manworren's successful educational approach to these gaps were tested during her tenure as the PI of a NIH Center of Excellence in Pain Education. Her recently posted, free, open access, curriculum has been downloaded over 400 times to sites in the US/Canada and 5 other countries. In addition, Dr. Manworren has served on the Board of Childkind International (2012-present), C*ORE Opioid REMs advisory panel (2011-12), Federal Pain Research Strategy: Acute Pain Work Group (2016-17), The Joint Commission Pain Standards Review Panel (2017), CDC Opioid Estimates Work Group (2018), AHRQ: Treatment of Acute Pain: An Evidence Map, Key Informant and Perspective Expert (2019), and Health Standards Organization, Canada, International Expert (2019-present).
